Now the Québec government has published a page about technical terms for artificial intelligence, Les termes de l’IA. Here are some of my favorites:

  • l’amplification (n.f) = boosting.
  • l’apprentissage à peu d’exemples = few-shot learning.
  • intervention humaine = human-in-the-loop.
  • attaque adverse (pas adversarial !) = adversarial attack.
  • complaisance de l’intelligence artificielle = AI sycophancy.
  • jetonisation = tokenisation.
  • cycle/époque d’apprentissage/entraînement = epoch.
  • débridage = jailbreaking.
  • requête = prompt.
  • rédaction/création de requêtes = requêtage = prompting.
  • rédactique = prompt engineering.
  • équité = fairness.
  • explicabilité = explainability.
  • extrant = output.
  • intrant = input.
  • fardage à l’IA = AI washing.
  • forêt aléatoire = forêt d’arbres de décision = random forest.
  • génération augmentée par récupération = retreival-augmented generation.
  • hypertrucage (n.m) = deepfake.
  • incitation à la chaîne de pensée (n.f) = chain-of-thought prompting.
  • infiltration de requête/invite = prompt injection.
  • intelligence artificielle faible/restreinte = weak/narrow AI.
  • intelligence artificielle forte/générale = strong AI / artificial general intelligence.
  • itération de requêtes = iterative/recursive prompting.
  • modèle de fondation = foundation model.
  • poids synaptique / de connexion = coefficient de pondération = connection weight.
